Triple-action power routing for marine fuel savings
EcoPilot combines weather routing with technical optimizations that are executed automatically.
AI-based eco-driving with automed execution
Prevention of “hurry-up-and-wait” behavior
Improved responsiveness to changing arrival slots
With EcoPilot you are in charge, but also in control.
AI based eco-driving
Import your planned route from your ECDIS or passage plan system and EcoPilot will provide an optimized propulsion plan for your voyage, based on real-time weather data and information about sea currents. EcoPilot optimizes the shaft power (RPM and propeller pitch) during the voyage to ensure on-time-arrival using as little fuel as possible.

Eliminate "hurry-up-and-wait" behavior
“Hurry-up-and-wait” behavior is very common, especially for passenger ships with a set time table
to adhere to. EcoPilot ensures on-time arrival without adding unnecessary margins that increase fuel consumption. Fuel savings grow with the number of crossings made.

Improved responsiveness to changing arrival slots
When using EcoPilot, your fleet operations centers (FOC) can upload a new target ETA directly to the vessel’s EcoPilot system. The power plan is recalculated, and the engine load is adjusted immediately, once the new target ETA has been confirmed by the captain. Immediate correction of the propulsion plan to a new arrival time can save many tons of fuel.

Interislander Kaitaki
Kaitaki is a Ro-Ro passenger ship operating in the Cook Strait between New Zealands two main islands (Wellington-Picton). EcoPilot optimizes the ship’s propulsion throughout each voyage to save fuel and secure timely arrival regardless of weather conditions or occasional departure delays.
